Harry was born in 1911 to Francis Henry & Maude WARNE.

In 1939, at St. Saviour's Catholic Church in Totland on the Isle of Wight (IW) Harry married Kathleen Mary HALL who was living in Freshwater IW around the time of his death.

Harry was Killed in Action on the 12th of August 1943 & was originally buried close to where he fell. Harry's body was later exhumed & reburied in the Bone War Cemetery, Annaba in Algeria on the 24th of May 1944.

Harry rests beneath a Commission Headstone, in Section VIII Row C Grave 7, which bears the Personal Inscription: "WHILE HE RESTS IN PEACEFUL SLEEP HIS MEMORY WE ALWAYS KEEP. LOVING WIFE AND SONS".

Although associated with Freshwater Harry does not appear on any of the Island's War Memorials.
