Regular giving
Regular Giving enables the Commonwealth War Graves Foundation to tell the stories of the fallen from the two World Wars, take them to new audiences and preserve them for evermore. Help keep these stories alive.
Give regularly now & Keep Their Stories Alive
Your regular giving helps us preserve remarkable stories like that of Brigadier James Hargest.

Brigadier James Hargest
He served during the First World War at Gallipoli and then at the Somme, where he was awarded a Military Cross.
During the Second World War, he took part in Operation Crusader as part of the North African Campaign, where he was taken as a prisoner of war.
James managed to escape and his military career took him and made it all the way to D-Day, where he was killed on Gold Beach, losing his life in the liberation of mainland Europe from fascist oppression.
Telling their stories
James is just one person among more than 1.7 million men and women commemorated by Commonwealth War Graves. With your help, we can preserve and share their stories so they are never forgotten.
